Teapot Workshop with Chad Corbin
2-Day Side-Handle Teapot Workshop | April 25 & 26
Service Description
Spend two immersive days learning the art of the side-handle teapot with ceramic artist Chad Corbin. From your first wedge of clay to a fully assembled teapot, this workshop walks you through every step: throwing, trimming, and assembling all four components of a traditional side-handle teapot. Day 1 begins with spiral wedging and an in-depth demo and practice session on throwing off the hump. You'll throw all four teapot components: body, lid, spout, and side-handle before wrapping up by throwing a chuck for Day 2. Day 2 focuses on trimming your cheese-hard pots, assembling your teapots, and additional demos from Chad, including a glazing demo if time allows. Want to glaze your piece? Come back to the studio to finish it at your own pace! Included: 25 lb bag of Laguna Buff 52 clay, throwing stick, cow tongue rib, all studio tools and bats, and your finished teapot and tea bowls fired through to glaze. Details: 📅 April 25 & 26 | 10am-5pm both days 💺 Limited to 8 participants 💰 $150 members / $175 non-members 🥪 Bring a sack lunch or plan to grab something nearby! Chad will also have pots available for purchase at the workshop.
